Threats

Like many other lakes in Massachusetts and across the nation, Lake Massapoag is facing more problems with potentially harmful bacteria (E. coli), harmful cyanobacteria blooms, and invasive species. Climate change, with increased heat, rainfall and runoff, can exacerbate these problems.
